The National Biosafety Authority (NBA) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment mandated to regulate the safe development, handling, use, and transfer of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and related products in Zambia. Established to protect human health, biodiversity, and the environment, NBA plays a critical role in promoting biosafety, ensuring compliance with national policies and international obligations, and supporting sustainable development through science-based regulation.
